Often young fathers’ first thoughts when thinking about becoming a dad is ‘I need to get some money in fast.’ This is a natural response and comes from a feeling of being responsible and a desire to care and provide for your family. However sometimes trying to make money quickly or settling for low-paid jobs can be a false economy.

College and training are likely to lead to a better job and a better financial situation for you and your family, so you may have to think longer term. You may also have to struggle financially in the short term (while at college) for longer term benefits.

Babies can be expensive, especially with the whole industry out there producing a world of products. Essentially, though, all your baby needs is to be fed, changed, cared for and loved. It does not necessarily need a £500 buggy!
